New favourite coffee mug :)
After a relatively calm day at work and a quick nap on the sofa I went out for a short 5K (finally one sub-30-minutes again *yay*) and some grocery shopping. And look what found its way into the basket, too? The new Runner’s World (featuring a special booklet on women’s running - looking forward to that!) and the Shape which comes with a free DVD of Jillian Michaels’ 30-Day-Shred (though only Level 1 and 2 and I won’t start talking about the synchronisation - it’s awful).
Early bird edition - I was up quite early today, so I decided to go for a longer run. 12 km in 90 minutes, my longest one yet (350 metres more than my old record *g* - not much more, but I was a bit faster than the last time). And yes, that’s sweat on my hand. Also quite a new experience because though I tend to sweat a lot I’ve never sweat so much that it showed on the back of my hands, too. It was already awfully warm here at 8 am, I’m curious what the day will bring temperature wise.
I’ll leave for a short shopping spree within the next half hour or so and tonight we go to a cover band festival, sponsored by the local brewery. My boyfriend’s company works for them so we’ve got free tickets, yay!
After having put it off for the last week due to the whole flat situation (I simply can’t keep this happy fact out of my posts *g*) I indulged in massive reward shopping today:
So welcome to my home new pair of running shoes, shocking pink Asics running shirt and CK One Summer. Actually, I did try that running shirt on a few weeks ago in the same size and decided against it because it was very, very, very uncomfortably tight. And now it fits easily - another one of those small NSVs that took me by surprise and left me in a very good mood :)
P.S.: Isn’t it great how the colours match? I just realised this after taking the photo *g*.
Besides this little fellow to track my runs I have made the folllowing investments for my health: 1 pair of running shoes, 1 pair of inline skates, 2 sport shirts, 1 pair of short running pants, 1 sports bra, 1 running jacket.
I have put aside some money since I started this journey and will go on a major fitness shopping spree today. Be thrilled with what I’ll come back =)
Seriously, nothing outrageous or scandalous - I’m thinking along the lines of a second pair of running shoes, new inline skates since I’ve ruined my old ones last year after 15 years *g* (and our major sports outfitter has currently ridiculously high reductions on those, 50 % and more) and perhaps 1-2 shirts and another running jacket.
